Federer lost only eight points in nine service games in the win over Murray. He broke Murray's serve at love in the third game of the first set and grabbed the advantage with a break to end a lengthy game at the beginning of the second set.

Murray was unable to solve Federer's serve. He won one point off Federer's serve until the final game of the first set when he took a 30-0 lead before Federer ran off four quick points for the set.

Soderling didn't face a break point until he was serving for the match at 5-3. Ferrer was able to finish that chance off but fell when Soderling posted his third break and took the match three games later.
