NHL: Vancouver 2, Florida 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Daniel Sedin scored both Vancouver goals Monday, including the third-period game-winner in the Canucks 2-1 decision over Florida.

Henrik Sedin's shot with less than 4 minutes left was stopped by Florida netminder Tomas Vokoun, but Daniel Sedin's shot in the rebound in a scramble at the left of the net, handing the Canucks their first win of the season.

Daniel Sedin's other goal came in the first period on assists from his twin brother and Mikael Samuelsson.

Roberto Luongo stopped 41-of-42 shots for the Canucks, including a point-blank chance in the third period that kept the game knotted at 1-1.

Rostislav Olesz got Florida's only goal when his second-period pass deflected off the skate of Vancouver defenseman Alexander Edler and into the Canucks' net.

Vokoun turned aside 33-of-35 shots for the Panthers, who have begun the season with two straight losses.
