MLB: Toronto 8, Texas 5

TORONTO, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Vernon Wells belted a pair of homers among his three hits Tuesday, powering the Toronto Blue Jays to an 8-5 win over Texas.

Wells smacked a solo shot in the fourth to tie the game 2-2 and added another bases-empty blast in the seventh, extending Toronto's lead to 6-2 and helping the Blue Jays take their second straight win in a four-game series with the Rangers.

Adam Lind added a two-run shot and John Buck homered, got two hits and scored twice to back Shaun Marcum (12-7), who held Texas to three runs on six hits, fanning eight in seven innings.

Scott Feldman (6-10), starting in place of injured ace Cliff Lee, was tagged for four runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings for the struggling first-place Rangers, who dropped their fifth straight game.

Vladimir Guerrero socked his 26th homer of the year, a two-run, fourth-inning shot, for Texas.
