MLB: Los Angeles Angels 3, Kansas City 1

ANAHEIM, Calif., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Bobby Abreu had two hits and Dan Haren won his first game as an Angel Tuesday in Los Angeles' 3-1 win over Kansas City.

Haren (1-2), who was acquired in a trade with Arizona last month, gave up a run on five hits in seven innings before making way for relievers Fernando Rodney and Brian Fuentes, who retired the Royals in order for his ninth save.

Abreu continued to thrive in the leadoff spot with a pair of walks and two runs scored to go with his two hits. Abreu is 7-for-16 batting first and the Halos have compiled a 4-1 record.

Peter Bourjos brought in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning with a squeeze bunt that scored Howie Kendrick from third.

Bryan Bullington (0-2) took the loss, allowing three runs on five hits in six innings. Kansas City has lost five of its last six games.
