KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 26 (UPI) -- Billy Butler socked a tie-breaking homer Wednesday to spark the Kansas City Royals' 5-2 victory over Texas.
Butler's solo shot off Scott Feldman (2-5) to lead off the sixth inning unknotted a 2-2 tie and gave Kansas City the lead for good.
Luke Hochevar (5-2) was tough, allowing a pair of runs on six hits over eight innings, issuing no walks and fanning four to lift the Royals to their first win against Texas in six tries this season.
Bloomquist also had an RBI double and Guillen and Scott Podsednik drove in a run apiece in the Royals' win.
Scott Feldman (2-5) absorbed the loss for the Rangers, yielding four runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings.
Michael Young stroked an RBI triple for Texas.
