MLB: Los Angeles Angels 3, Toronto 1

TORONTO, April 18 (UPI) -- Ervin Santana scattered four hits and fanned six in a complete game victory Sunday as the Los Angeles Angels topped Toronto 3-1.

Santana (1-2) didn't allow a walk in the gem, his sixth career complete game, taking a shutout into the bottom of ninth when, with two outs, Adam Lind with a solo shot to get Toronto's only run.

Hideki Matsui clouted a pair of doubles and drove in a run and Jeff Mathis chipped in with an RBI single as the Angels scored their first sweep of a three-game series in Toronto since 2004.

The Angels posted their fourth win in five games overall.

Ricky Romero (1-1) pitched well for the Blue Jays in the loss, giving up only one run on five hits with six strikeouts in eight innings of work. In his last start against Chicago, Romero's bid for a no-hitter was broken up in the eighth inning.
