NHL: Minnesota 2, Calgary 1 (SO)

CALGARY, Alberta, April 9 (UPI) -- Brent Burns and Antti Miettinen produced shootout goals Thursday to give the Minnesota Wild a 2-1 victory over Calgary.

In a meeting of teams that will miss the playoffs, Minnesota's Wade Dubielewicz was brought off the bench to play in goal during the third period and he wound up being perfect in the shootout. It was only his third appearance of the season.

Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 23-of-24 shots in regulation and overtime, but he could make only one save in three tries in the shootout.

Chuck Kobasew gave Minnesota the lead midway through the first period with a power-play goal. Nigel Dawes tied it in the second.
