NBA: Phoenix 101, Denver 85

PHOENIX, March 1 (UPI) -- Amare Stoudemire and Grant Hill each scored 19 points Monday to lift the Phoenix Suns to their sixth win in seven games, a 101-85 rout of Denver.

Stoudemire collected 10 boards and Hill grabbed eight, while Channing Frye contributed 16 points and five boards off the bench and Jason Richardson and Goran Dragic each helped out with 12 points in the win.

The Suns blew the game open in the second period after spotting Denver a 13-point lead. Phoenix went on a 33-7 run to close out the first half -- during which Dragic scored 10 of his 12 points -- as they posted a 57-44 advantage at the break.

The Suns continued after halftime with another 14-2 run to turn the contest into a blowout.

Chauncey Billups ended with 21 points while Carmelo Anthony scored 17 points and pulled down seven caroms for the Nuggets, who lost back-to-back games for the first time since Dec. 28.
