NHL: Dallas 4, Minnesota 3

DALLAS, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Tom Wandell, Michael Modano, Loui Eriksson and Matt Niskanen gave Dallas a four-goal lead and the Stars hung on Monday for a 4-3 win over the Minnesota Wild.

Eriksson and Niskanen each added an assist and Brad Richards had three assists, helping Dallas extend its winning streak over Minnesota to 11 games.

Alex Auld turned back 22 shots for the Stars.

Minnesota battled back with two goals by Antti Miettinen and another, with 5 minutes to play, by Mikko Koivu. Miettinen assisted on Koivu's goal.

Niklas Backstrom allowed all four Dallas goals before he was replaced by Josh Harding in the second period. Backstrom made 11 saves and Harding had 14.
