NHL: Vancouver 6, Pittsburgh 2

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Alexandre Burrows scored his 11th goal in his past seven games and 21st of the season Saturday to help lead Vancouver past the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-2.

Henrik Sedin chipped in a goal and an assist for Vancouver and boosted his league-leading point total to 67.

The Canucks outshot the visiting Penguins 27-24 and put the game away with four goals in the second period.

Roberto Luongo had 22 saves. Vancouver's other goals came from Jannik Hansen, Mikael Samuelsson, Ryan Kessler and Willie Mitchell.

Matt Cooke and Evgeni Malkin accounted for Pittsburgh's goals. Backups John Curry and Alexander Pechurski split time in goal as Marc-Andre Fleury and Brent Johnson sat out with injuries.

Vancouver scored five consecutive goals after Malkin gave the Penguins a 1-0 lead at 7:32 of the first period. Burrows' unassisted goal at 18:37 of the first period broke a 1-1 tie.

After Malkin's goal, Luongo kept the Pens off the scoreboard until Cooke's score at 11:54 of the second period.
