NHL: Boston 2, San Jose 1 (SO)

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Zdeno Chara scored the only goal of the shootout in the fourth round Thursday, giving the Boston Bruins a 2-1 victory over San Jose.

Boston won for the first time in four games and avoided what would have been its longest losing streak of the season. The Sharks had won their previous two outings.
