NHL: Chicago 6, St. Louis 3

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Tomas Kopecky and Patrick Sharp each scored twice to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 6-3 win over the St. Louis Blues Saturday.

Cristobal Huett stopped 19 shots and Brian Campbell and Kris Versteeg added the other goals for Chicago, who have won eight of their last 10 games.

The Blues, who earlier Saturday fired head Coach Andy Murray and took the ice with interim head coach Davis Payne behind the bench, had goals from Andy McDonald, Keith Tkachuk and Eric Brewer. Ty Conklin allowed six goals on 33 shots.

St. Louis tied the game twice in the first period, but did not score again until Tkachuk scored on a power play with 2:08 left to play.

After the first period ended in a 2-2 tie, Chicago scored twice in the second and twice in the third to take a 6-2 lead into the home stretch.
