DENVER, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Tomas Fleischman scored a pair of goals Tuesday in the Washington Capitals' 6-1 rout of Colorado.

Jose Theodore made 27 saves for the Caps, who have won eight of their last 10 games and lead the NHL with 48 points.

David Steckel, Mike Knuble, Nicklas Backstrom and Matt Bradley accounted for Washington's other goals, although Colorado outshot the Capitals 28-25.

T.J. Galiardi scored Colorado's only goal at 11:21 of the third period to make it 5-1. Craig Anderson allowed five goals on 21 shots over two periods. Peter Budaj was in goal for the third period and made three saves.

Fleischman's goal got the Capitals off to a 1-0 lead at just 1:56 of the first period. After Knuble and Steckel padded the lead to 3-0, Fleischman struck again with a wrist shot at 10:33 of the second period to make it 4-0.
