NHL: Nashville 7, Tampa Bay 4

NASHVILLE, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- David Legwand and Patric Hornqvist each had a goal and an assist Tuesday to lead the Nashville Predators to a 7-4 victory over Tampa Bay.

Dan Hamhuis, Martin Erat, Jerred Smithson, Ryan Jones and J.P. Dumont also tallied for the Preds, who won for the fourth time in five games. Pekka Rinne stopped 30 shots.

Tampa Bay got two goals from Vincent Lecavalier in its fifth straight loss, while Steven Stamkos and Kurtis Foster also scored for the Lightning. Starting goalie Antero Niittymaki allowed four goals on 14 shots and was pulled in favor of Mike Smith, who picked up the loss.

Nashville blew the game open with a five-goal second period. Hornqvist boosted the lead to 4-2 at 12:22, chasing Niittymaki, and Dumont greeted Smith with another goal only 28 seconds later.
