Andrew Bailey (5-3) got the win by pitching the top of the ninth in relief of starter Trevor Cahill, who held the Sox to two runs on six hits in six-plus innings.

Scott Podsednik and Jim Thome drove in Chicago's two runs.

Oakland tied the contest 2-2 in the eighth. Davis doubled off Chicago starter John Danks. Danks was pulled in favor of Octavio Dotel, who retired Kurt Suzuki but then gave up an RBI double to Hairston that drove in the tying run.
