OAKLAND, Calif., Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Rajai Davis smacked a pinch-hit, two-run triple to finish off a three-run ninth inning Monday and the Oakland A's came from behind to beat Texas 3-2.
The A's trailed 2-0 going into the bottom of the ninth but got a run on successive singles by Jack Cust, Tommy Everidge and Mark Ellis -- setting up Davis' game-winner off Rangers' reliever C.J. Wilson (4-5).
Oakland starter Brett Anderson went 7 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on six hits with three walks and eight strikeouts, but did not figure in the decision.
Michael Wuertz (6-1) got the win in relief, going 1 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit with no walks and one strikeout.
The Athletics ended a two-game losing streak while handing the Rangers their second loss in three games.
Marlon Byrd drove in a run and Josh Hamilton had two hits for the Rangers.
