MLB: LA Dodgers 5, Chicago White Sox 2

CHICAGO, June 23 (UPI) -- Hiroki Kuroda retired 16 straight and struck out nine in 8 2/3 innings Tuesday to pitch the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-2 win over the Chicago White Sox.

Kuroda (2-3) en route to a complete game before Alexei Ramirez singled with two outs in the ninth, moved to second on defensive indifference and scored on Jermaine Dye's single. He gave up two runs on four hits without a walk ro win for the first time since beating San Diego on Opening Day.

James Loney hit a two-run home run and Casey Blake also drove in two runs for the Dodgers.

Jonathan Broxton struck out Jim Thome to record his 18th save.

John Danks (5-6) took the inter-league loss after giving up three runs on three hits.

Dye was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Paul Konerko hit a solo homer for the White Sox.
