CHICAGO, June 11 (UPI) -- Scott Podsednik's second hit Thursday, a ninth-inning RBI single, lifted the Chicago White Sox to a 4-3 win over the Detroit Tigers.

The start of the contest at Chicago's Cellular Field was delayed nearly three hours by rain.

Jim Thome had two hits -- one a second-inning solo homer -- and two RBI. A.J. Pierzynski's lone hit was an eighth-inning solo shot, while Brian Anderson added two hits for the White Sox, who won for just the third time in their last 11 games.

They went just 4-8 on a season-long 12-game homestand.

The winner was closer Bob Jenks (1-2), despite his second blown save.

Curtis Granderson led Detroit with three hits -- one a ninth-inning two-run homer. Ramon Santiago's lone hit was an eighth-inning solo shot for the Tigers, who amassed only seven hits and had won five of six before taking the five-game series 3-2.

The losing pitcher was reliever Joel Zumaya (3-1).
