MLB: San Francisco 5, Arizona 1

PHOENIX, April 25 (UPI) -- Tim Lincecum struck out 12 over eight innings and won his first game of the year Friday, carrying the San Francisco Giants to a 5-1 victory over Arizona.

Lincecum (1-1) won last season's National League Cy Young Award, but had been unable to post a victory in his first three starts this season. He was outdueled by Arizona's Doug Davis last weekend, and then got the best of Davis in a rematch Friday.

The San Francisco starter gave up a lone run on five hits and walked one. He gave way to Jeremy Affeldt in the ninth in a non-save situation.

The Giants won their fourth straight after having captured just three of their first 11 games this season.

Davis (1-3) took the loss, coughing up five runs on nine hits over six innings.

Edgar Renteria and Bengie Molina hit solo homers for the Giants for a 2-0 lead through the fourth inning. Rich Aurilia contributed an RBI single in the sixth and Molina added a run-scoring double in the seventh.
