MLB: Arizona 2, San Francisco 0

SAN FRANCISCO, April 18 (UPI) -- Chris Young's two-run double in the ninth and Doug Davis' eight shutout innings gave the Arizona Diamondbacks a 2-0 win over San Francisco Saturday.

Davis (1-2) got his first win of the season after scattering eight hits and a walk while striking out six for Arizona, which had lost five of six prior to Saturday. Chad Qualls struck out the side in the ninth to earn his second save.

Tim Lincecum, the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner, tied a career-high with 13 strikeouts in eight innings, allowing only five hits. Jeremy Affeldt (0-1) took the loss.

Emmanuel Burriss and Fred Lewis each had two hits in the loss, the Giants' seventh in eight games.
