LOS ANGELES, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Dwight Lewis scored 18 points and Taj Gibson had 17 points and five blocked shots Saturday to lead No. 21 USC to a 78-55 win over UC-Irvine.
The Trojans lost freshman O.J. Mayo to the NBA after last season but new freshman DeMar DeRozan scored 14 points in his first collegiate game.

Darren Moore scored 16 points and Brett Lauer added 12 for UC-Irvine, which has just two starters returning from last year's team, which reached the Big West Tournament title game for the first time in 14 years.
