NHL: San Jose 5, Columbus 2

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 15 (UPI) -- The San Jose Sharks, led by Patrick Marleau's two goals, remained unbeaten in the new season with a 5-2 win Tuesday over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

One of Marleau's scores came short-handed, as did Jonathan Cheechoo's goal. Milan Michalek scored on the power play and Marc-Edouard added a goal for the Sharks.

Evgeni Nabokov made 31 saves as the Sharks, who are 4-0 for the first time in franchise history under new Coach Todd McLellan.

The Blue Jackets got their goals from Kristian Huselius and Christian Backman.

Pascal Leclaire made 19 saves before being lifted during the final period for Fredrik Norrena.
