MLB: Tampa Bay 7, Baltimore 5 (2nd Game)

BALTIMORE, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Dioner Navarro's two-run single keyed a late rally Tuesday that erased a four-run deficit for a 7-5 Tampa Bay win and a double-header sweep of Baltimore.

Besides Navarro's big hit, the Rays got an RBI groundout from Willy Aybar, a homer from Evan Longoria -- his 26th -- an RBI single from Jason Bartlett and a run-scoring double from Kameron Mickolio in the decisive six-run eighth. Five of the runs came with two outs.

Tampa Bay, which had never swept a double-header in franchise history, won the first game 5-2. With their 95th win, the Rays surpassed the 1991 Atlanta Braves for the most wins ever for a team that had Major League Baseball's worst record the year before.

The Rays also extended their American League East lead to three games over Boston with five games left in the season. Their magic number to win its first division title is two because they hold the season tiebreaker over Boston, which secured a playoff spot Tuesday night by beating Cleveland.

Jeff Niemann (2-1) got the win in relief of Mitch Talbot despite giving up two runs on four hits in 2 1/3 innings. J.P. Howell earned his third save of the season after 1 2/3 perfect innings.

The loss was tagged on reliever Jamie Walker (1-3) who coughed up four runs without recording an out in the eighth.
