MLB: Florida 5, Arizona 4

PHOENIX, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Cody Ross gave Florida the lead with an eighth-inning home run Friday and the Marlins edged the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-4.

Ross's solo homer, deep to left field, capped a two-run rally. Ross also doubled in a run earlier in the contest.

Arthur Rhodes (3-1) got the win, pitching a scoreless seventh, and Kevin Gregg tossed a 1-2-3 ninth for his 28th save of the season.

Stephen Drew had two RBI for Arizona.

Diamondbacks starter Randy Johnson pitched seven innings, allowing three runs and six hits, but ended with a no-decision.

Jon Rauch (4-4) took the loss after giving up two runs, including the homer by Ross, in the eighth.
