MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Jason Kubel's two-run home run during a seven-run fourth-inning outburst Friday helped Francisco Liriano and the Minnesota Twins beat Seattle 9-3.

Nick Punto drove in two runs and Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau and Denard Span each contributed an RBI for the Twins, who have won six of their last eight games.

Liriano (3-3) allowed two hits and two runs, both unearned, in seven innings.

Kubel had an RBI single to go with his home run in the Twins' fourth-inning barrage.

Minnesota battered loser Carlos Silva (4-14) for nine runs and nine hits in 3 1/3 innings.
