MLB: Los Angeles 3, Philadelphia 1

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- Hiroki Kuroda allowed just two hits in seven innings for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who completed a four-game sweep Thursday with a 3-1 win over Philadelphia.

Kuroda (7-8) allowed a run and struck out seven batters. Hong-Chih Kuo preserved the two-hitter in two innings of scoreless relief to get his first save of the season.

Matt Kemp hit a solo home run and Nomar Garciaparra and Casey Blake accounted for the Dodgers' other two RBI.

Jayson Werth and Chase Utley got the Phillies hits, both doubles, and Ryan Howard contributed an RBI with a sacrifice fly.

Philadelphia starter Brett Myers (5-10) worked seven innings, giving up the three Los Angeles runs and five hits.
