MLB: N.Y. Mets 5, Florida 3

NEW YORK, May 27 (UPI) -- Johan Santana gave up three runs over seven innings Tuesday, emerging as the winner in a 5-3 New York Mets victory over the Florida Marlins.

Santana (6-3) allowed eight hits with seven strikeouts.

He benefited from the offensive output of Fernando Tatis and Ramon Castro, who each drove in two runs. David Wright scored twice for the Mets.

It was only the fourth win in the last 13 games overall for New York.

Cody Ross homered and had two RBI for Florida. Andrew Miller (4-4) was the losing pitcher after giving up four runs on six hits and three walks in 4 2/3 innings.
