Prior to Dunn's blast, his ninth round-tripper this season, the Reds trailed 2-1, but Joey Votto singled and Edwin Encarnacion was hit by a pitch by losing pitcher Masa Kobayashi (2-1). Dunn then hammered a pitch into the right-field stands.

Cincinnati's Brandon Phillips had two of his team's six hits and one RBI.

The winner was Bill Bray (1-0).

Starter Aaron Harang surrendered an earned run and eight hits in seven innings with a walk and five strikeouts.

Cleveland scored on Ryan Garko's second-inning double and Ben Francisco's solo homer in the eighth.

Francisco had three hits while both Garko and Grady Sizemore had two hits for the Indians, who have lost two straight following a three-game winning streak.

Cleveland starter Fausto Carmona gave up an earned run and four hits in 7 1/3 innings.
