Kenny Perry shares AT&T lead

DULUTH, Ga., May 15 (UPI) -- Kenny Perry shot a 6-under 66 during the worst of Thursday's bad weather in Georgia and grabbed a share of the first-round lead at the AT&T Classic.

Jonathan Byrd, Ryan Palmer, Jonathan Kaye and Parker McLachlin were tied with Perry, but they all played their rounds at the TPC-Sugarloaf course in the morning -- before persistent rains moved into the area.

Those showers forced a 31-minute delay and even after play resumed, a steady rain fell. There were 34 players still on the course when darkness suspended the action, but none of them was in position to change the top of the leaderboard.

Perry bounced back from his disappointing finish at last week's Players Championship, where he shot an 81 in the final round and fell from second place to a tie for 15th.

The five co-leaders had a one-shot advantage over Charles Howell III, David Toms, Ted Purdy and Bob Sowards.

Stewart Cink, who at No. 3 is the only player in the field among the top 10 on the FedEx Cup points list, shot a 68.
