MLB: N.Y. Yankees 9, Chi. White Sox 5

CHICAGO, April 23 (UPI) -- Bobby Abreu's grand slam Tuesday keyed the New York Yankees' 9-5 win over the Chicago White Sox.

The Yankees also got a three-run homer from Johnny Damon and a solo shot from Jason Giambi. Hideki Matsui knocked in a run for New York, which has won two straight.

Chien-Ming Wang (4-0) got the win while giving up three runs on 10 hits in six innings. He struck out five before turning the game over to the Yankees' bullpen, which held the Sox to two runs and three hits in three innings.

Alex Rodriguez missed the game and will be gone Wednesday, as well, to be with his wife, who gave birth to the couple's second child late Monday.

Juan Uribe ended 2-for-5 with two RBI for Chicago, which is 3-3 in its last six games. Paul Konerko and A.J. Pierzynski each had an RBI.

Sox starter Jose Contreras (1-2) gave up four runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings.
