MLB: Texas 7, Toronto 5 (14 inn.)

TORONTO, April 17 (UPI) -- Frank Catalanotto scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the 14th inning Wednesday and Texas finally fought off Toronto 7-5.

The Rangers ended a five-game losing streak, although they let a three-run lead slip away in the eighth inning and blew a bases-loaded opportunity in the 13th.

Catalanotto homered, went three for seven and scored three times. Josh Hamilton added four hits for the Rangers with two doubles and two runs scored.

The win went to Dustin Nippert (1-1), who worked an inning of relief. C.J. Wilson earned his fourth save. Sixteen pitchers saw action in the contest.

A.J. Burnett (1-1) took the loss, allowing two runs in the 14th after Toronto ran out of relief pitchers.

Burnett gave up a lead-off single to Gerald Laird and, one out later, Catalanotto doubled Laird to third.

Laird was then thrown out at home on a grounder to shortstop by Michael Young, giving Toronto a chance to escape the inning.

Burnett, however, threw a wild pitch on his first offering to Hamilton and Catalanotto raced in with the go-ahead run. Hamilton then doubled home Young.
