MLB: Chicago Cubs 9, Cincinnati 5

CHICAGO, April 16 (UPI) -- Derrek Lee led the Chicago Cubs Tuesday with a three-run homer in a 9-5 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

Ryan Theriot and Mark DeRosa each added two-run homers while the Cubs pounded out 14 hits.

The offensive onslaught came despite the loss of left-fielder Alfonso Soriano, who strained his right calf in the first inning and had to leave the game. He was replaced in left field by DeRosa.

Ryan Dempster (2-0) pitched six innings for Chicago, allowing four runs on five hits with six walks.

Ken Griffey Jr. and Joey Votto homered for the Reds, who have lost four straight. Aaron Harang (1-2) was gave up five runs and eight hits over six innings.
