MLB: Detroit 11, Minnesota 9

DETROIT, April 14 (UPI) -- Ivan Rodriguez had a homer, a triple and three RBI Monday when the Detroit Tigers overcame two five-run deficits to beat the Minnesota Twins 11-9.

Magglio Ordonez went 3-for-4 with a double and Carlos Guillen went 3- for-4 with a double and three RBI for the Tigers, who hadn't scored a run in their previous two games.

Miguel Cabrera and Gary Sheffield had two hits each, including a double each, for Detroit -- which scored more runs than it had in a game all season.

Tigers' starter Jeremy Bonderman allowed seven runs on eight hits in 6 1/3 innings.

Francis Beltran (1-0) pitched a scoreless eighth for the win.

Delmon Young was 3-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI for Minnesota.

Rookie Nick Blackburn gave up four runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings. Twins relievers Matt Guerrier and Pat Neshek combined to allowed seven runs on eight hits in the final 2 1/3 innings.
