LOS ANGELES, April 12 (UPI) -- The San Diego Padres' Tadahito Iguchi went 2-for-5 and Brad Peavy improved to 11-1 lifetime against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 7-5 win Friday night.
Peavy, the reigning Cy Young Award winner, gave up seven hits before getting seven outs but settled down surrendering nine hits over six innings. Rafeal Furcal was 3-for-3 with three runs scored for the Dodgers, and James Loney had a solo home run to cut the deficit to 4-3 in the sixth, but the Dodgers went on to lose their fourth straight game.
"I couldn't be more happy with the out come of this game, said Peavy. "I had nothing but I battled and got a win anyway."
Brad Penny (1-2) gave up four runs on 10 hits over six innings in the loss.
