NBA: Charlotte 94, Miami 82

CHARLOTTE, N.C., March 22 (UPI) -- Gerald Wallace had 26 points and five rebounds Saturday to lead the Charlotte Bobcats to a 94-82 win over the Miami Heat.

A 6-0 Heat run reduced their deficit to 73-70 with 9:48 left in the contest but a 21-8 burst lifted Charlotte to a 94-78 advantage with 4:30 left. From that point, Miami had no answer.

Jason Richardson scored 24 with three rebounds and four assists and Nazr Mohammed added 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Bobcats, who broke a five-game losing streak in the battle of two of the NBA's worst teams.

Miami got 19 points and eight assists from Jason Williams. Ricky Davis scored 15 with nine rebounds and reserve Chris Quinn had 14 points and five assists for the Heat, who have lost three in a row and 11 of 12.

The Heat played without Coach Pat Riley, who is scouting prospects at the NCAA Tournament in Omaha and Washington.
