TORONTO, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Alex Steen scored the game-winner early in the third period Saturday, boosting the Toronto Maple Leafs over the Atlanta Thrashers 3-1.
Steen's 11th goal this season broke a 1-1 tie at 2:53 of the third and put Toronto ahead for good.
Mats Sundin scored his 25th goal (power play) at 3:33 of the second and Nik Antropov's 22nd goal at 12:44 of the third capped the scoring.
Vesa Toskala stopped 24 of 25 shots for the Maple Leafs, who have won three of their last four games.
Steen was given a two-year contract extension Saturday but Sundin, who has been mentioned in numerous trade rumors, may have played his last game in a Maple Leaf uniform.
Both Steen and Antropov had assists.
Atlanta's lone goal was scored by Mark Recchi on the power play at 11:54 of the first.
Kari Lehtonen yielded three goals on 25 Toronto shots for the Thrashers, who have lost three in a row.
