NHL: Boston 5, Florida 4 (SO)

SUNRISE, Fla., Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Boston rallied from a two-goal deficit in the third period Thursday and Marco Strum scored in the shootout, giving the Bruins a 5-4 win over Florida.

Strum had a regulation goal and two assists, boosting Boston to its third win in four games.

Boston goaltender Tim Thomas was lifted after giving up four goals on 12 shots in the first two periods. Alex Auld stopped 15 shots in the third period and all three in the shootout.

The Panthers had a 4-2 lead going into the third period and it stayed that way until Zdeno Chara and Phil Kessel scored in a span of 1:38 to tie the game. Chara produced a power-play goal with 6:50 remaining in the third period. Kessel then scored on a wrist shot that got past Tomas Vokoun, who made 44 saves.

Florida had won seven of its nine previous meetings with Boston.
