Jimenez wins Hong Kong Open

HONG KONG, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Miguel Angel Jimenez closed with a 3-under-par 67 Sunday to win the European Tour's 2008 Hong Kong Open Golf Tournament.

It marked his second title at this event.

Despite a bogey at No. 17 and a double-bogey on the final hole, the Spaniard overtook Sweden's Robert Karlsson, his playing partner who began the round with a four-stroke advantage,

Karlsson, like Jimenez, made a double-bogey at No. 18, capping a disastrous 2-over 72.

That left him with a 14-under 266 for the tourney, good for runner-up with Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee (65) and South Korea's K.J. Choi (67).

"It is very nice to win a tournament again," Jimenez said after his 14th victory on the European Tour. "I played very well through the week and I am very pleased. But I have to say the only down part I feel is for Robert, the way it finished was not so good because I know he wanted to win badly too."

Sweden's Peter Hanson (68) was fifth at 13-under 267.
