NBA: San Antonio 88, Miami 78

SAN ANTONIO, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Manu Ginobili scored 25 points off the bench Wednesday as San Antonio bounced back from its first loss of the season to defeat Miami 88-78.

Tony Parker added 23 points and Tim Duncan had 12. The Spurs posted their third victory in as many home games this season after having lost 24 hours earlier in Houston.

Miami struggled to get good shots against the San Antonio defense. Shaquille O'Neal led the way for the Heat with 17 points and Ricky Davis had 14. Miami has opened the season with four straight losses.

Still playing without star Dwyane Wade, Miami now must go to Phoenix before returning home for the weekend.

San Antonio took control with a 15-6 run midway through the third quarter and the Spurs owned a 65-58 advantage going into the fourth. They eventually built a 75-60 cushion.

Miami has lost in its last 10 trips to San Antonio.
