NBA: New Jersey 112, Chicago 103 (OT)

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Richard Jefferson scored 29 points Wednesday, including a key three-pointer in overtime, as New Jersey beat the Chicago Bulls 112-103.

The three-point shot gave New Jersey an insurmountable 108-102 lead with 38 seconds left in overtime.

The Nets increased their home-court winning streak against the Bulls to 12 in a row despite blowing a 56-41 halftime lead.

New Jersey's Vince Carter had 24 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. Antoine Wright recorded a career-high 21 points and three rebounds as the Nets won the season-opener for both teams.

Chicago's Ben Gordon had 28 points and eight rebounds. Luol Deng had 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Kirk Hinrich contributed 14 points, three rebounds and three assists, while Chris Duhon added 10 points and six assists for the Bulls, who have won once in their last seven contests against the Nets.
