NHL: Calgary 3, Dallas 2 (OT)

DALLAS, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Matthew Lombardi tied the game in the third period Friday night and then scored in overtime to give the Calgary Flames a 3-2 victory over Dallas.

It was Calgary's first win under Coach Mike Keenan.

The Flames had lost their first three games of the season, the first time in seven years they had done so.

Jarome Iginla scored for Calgary and Miikka Kiprusoff made 24 saves.

The Dallas goals came from Mike Modano and Niklas Hagman, who scored twice in Wednesday night's win over Los Angeles.

Lombardi scored on a wrister with 9:14 remaining in the third period and his winning goal came 3:20 into the overtime.

Brenden Morrow turned the puck over in the Dallas zone and Lombardi took advantage, firing a slap shot from the left point that beat Marty Turco.

Calgary won in Dallas for the first time in six seasons.
