NHL: St. Louis 4, Nashville 1

ST. LOUIS, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Brad Boyes scored twice Wednesday in making the home opener for St. Louis a successful one as the Blues rolled over Nashville 4-1.

Ryan Johnson and Lee Stempniak also scored for the Blues, winners of two in a row. Manny Legace made 19 saves.

Paul Kariya, playing against his former team, ran his season assist total to five with two helpers against the Predators.

Boyes scored just 54 seconds into the game and made it 2-0 with 5:23 remaining in the first period by putting in his own rebound.

St. Louis ran its lead to 4-0 before Nashville managed its lone goal in the final minute of the second period. That score came from Jordin Tootoo.
