NFL: Jacksonville 17, Kansas City 7

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Jacksonville's David Garrard passed for one touchdown and Maurice Jones-Drew ran for another Sunday in a 17-7 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Garrard completed 20 of 27 passes for 218 yards as Jacksonville improved to 3-1. He completed his TD pass to Dennis Northcutt, who finished with four catches for 73 yards.

Jones-Drew totaled 82 yards on nine carries, with 52 coming on his scoring run.

John Carney kicked a 20-yard field goal, as well.

Tony Gonzalez caught eight passes for 100 yards for Kansas City (2-3). Damon Huard was 19 of 30 for 196 yards with an interception before being hurt in the fourth quarter.

Jacksonville held Larry Johnson to 12 yards on nine carries, and just three yards on five catches, while limiting the Chiefs to just 10 yards total rushing.

Brodie Croyle completed a 17-yard touchdown pass to Sammie Parker on the final play of the game to avoid being shutout at home for the first time in 13 years.
