BALTIMORE, July 29 (UPI) -- Johnny Damon had three hits, two RBI and four runs scored Sunday afternoon, as the New York Yankees beat Baltimore, 10-6.
Melky Cabrera had three hits, scored twice and drove in a run for the Yankees, who won for the first time in their last four games and avoided a series sweep.
Chien-Ming Wang (12-5) allowed three runs on nine hits, four walks and one strikeout in six innings.
Miguel Tejada and Nick Markakis had three hits apiece and Brian Roberts had a home run and three RBI for the Orioles, who said goodbye to a six-game winning streak.
Daniel Cabrera (7-11) yielded four runs on six hits, with five strikeouts and five walks in six innings.
The Yankees sealed the victory with a five-run eighth, highlighted by Damon's RBI double and a two-run single by Bobby Abreu.
The Orioles cut the Yankees lead to four in the bottom of the eighth on Roberts' two-run homer.
Yankees' slugger Alex Rodriguez is still parked at 499 big league home runs after going 0-for-2 with three walks.
The start of the game was held up for 42 minutes by rain.
