MLB: Oakland 4, Baltimore 3

OAKLAND, Calif., July 21 (UPI) -- Dan Haren held the Orioles to three runs on seven hits over 6 2/3 innings Saturday night, as the Oakland Athletics beat Baltimore, 4-3.

Haren (11-3) struck out seven and walked three.

Alan Embree pitched a scoreless ninth to get his 10th save.

Jack Cust homered for the A's, who won for just the second time in their last 12 games.

Steve Trachsel (5-7) allowed four runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings, with three strikeouts and three walks.

Kevin Millar had a two-run double for the Orioles, who lost for the second time in their last three games.

Cust led off the bottom of the fifth with his 17th homer of the season to put Oakland ahead, 4-2.

Corey Patterson drove in a run for Baltimore in the seventh, to cut the lead to 4-3, but Oakland held on for the win.
