KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 29 (UPI) -- Shane Costa and Esteban German had two RBI each Friday as the Kansas City Royals won their season-best fifth straight game, 8-1 over the Chicago White Sox.
Brian Bannister (5-4) gave up a run on four hits over five innings and Zack Greinke worked the final 2 2/3 to record the first save of his career.

Jose Contreras (5-9) took the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits in 6 1/3.
The Royals broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth on an RBI single by Billy Butler and a sacrifice fly by John Buck.
German singled in a run and Costa drove in two more in the seventh to give the Royals a 6-1 cushion.
