MLB: Boston 9, San Francisco 5

BOSTON, June 17 (UPI) -- Manny Ramirez had a home run and three RBI Sunday as the Boston Red Sox beat the San Francisco Giants 9-5.

San Francisco's Barry Bonds hit his 748th career home run to close to seven behind Hank Aaron for the record.

Tim Wakefield (7-7) gave up five runs on eight hits over 5 2/3 innings, with three strikeouts. Four relievers combined to allow just one hit over the final 3 1/3 innings.

Kevin Youkilis drove in two runs for the Red Sox, who lead the AL East by nine games over the New York Yankees.

Giants starter Matt Morris (7-4) gave up eight runs on nine hits over four innings.

Omar Vizquel and Randy Winn drove in runs for the Giants, who have lost seven of their last nine games. Pedro Feliz also homered for San Francisco.
