MLB: Seattle 12, LA Angels 5

ANAHEIM, Calif., May 28 (UPI) -- Adrian Beltre drove in three runs on four hits, including two homers, Monday night, as the Seattle Mariners beat the LA Angels of Anaheim, 12-5.

Beltre smacked a two-run homer in the sixth and a solo shot during a six-run outburst in the seventh, as the Mariners won their fourth straight, and their sixth in seven games, to move within 3 ½ games of the AL West-leading Angels.

Richie Sexson had a three-run homer, Ichiro Suzuki extended his hitting streak to 21 games, and Jose Lopez had three hits and two RBI for Seattle.

Starter Miguel Batista (5-4) earned his first victory since May 2, yielding four runs on nine hits, with four strikeouts and four walks in 5 1/3 innings.

Vladimir Guerrero had three hits, one RBI and two runs scored for the Angels, who lost for the first time in their last four games, and for just the third time in 12 games.

Bartolo Colon (5-2) took the loss for LA.
