MLB: Philadelphia 7, Chi. Cubs 2

PHILADELPHIA, May 11 (UPI) -- Pat Burrell hit two homers for five RBI Friday, powering Philadelphia to a 7-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs.

He blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth and added a two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth. Burrell, a power-hitter, had one homer and 11 RBI in his last 97 at-bats before the contest.

Chase Utley hit a two-run single and Burrell had three hits for the Phillies, who have split their last four games.

Winner Cole Hamels (5-1) scattered two earned runs and seven hits over seven innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Alfonso Soriano and Aramis Ramirez hit solo homers, while Soriano and Matt Murton each had two hits for the Cubs, who have dropped three of four.

Losing pitcher Rich Hill (4-2) gave up five runs -- four earned -- and four hits in five innings with three walks and seven strikeouts.
