ST. LOUIS, May 7 (UPI) -- Scott Rolen hit a key two-run single Sunday afternoon to help the St. Louis Cardinals beat Houston, 3-1.

Ryan Ludwick drove in a run, and Adam Kennedy had a run and three hits for the Cardinals, who bounced back from a 13-0 drubbing Saturday, and have split their last four games.

Winner Braden Looper (4-2) gave up one earned run and six hits in six innings, with two walks and three strikeouts.

Jason Isringhausen earned his eighth save of the season.

Carlos Lee had three hits and one RBI, while Brad Ausmus and Luke Scott each had two hits for the Astros, who have split their last four games.

Losing pitcher Chris Sampson (3-2) yielded three earned runs and five hits in 4 2/3 innings, with one walk and one strikeout.
